ÎLE-DE-FRANCE URANOSCOPE
The Uranoscope observatory is located in Gretz-Armainvilliers, right next to the arboretum of Val-des-Dames. The association that regulates it is very dynamic since it offers public evenings every Saturday evening (a constant is guaranteed to inform the visitor, or even to observe some celestial objects according to weather conditions, from 9 p. m. to 11 p. m. in winter, and from 10:00 p. m. to midnight from May to September). House of Culture and Recreation (located opposite the Uranoscope), data by renowned scientists. These conferences address many eclectic subjects: The life of astronauts, pollution, black holes, travel in space, bowels of the Earth, large telescopes etc. In addition to the hotspots on Saturday evening, the observatory is open at the major annual events (Stars of Stars for example), just as at the time of important celestial events (eclipses). Observations take place either under the main dome (a great moment for children, especially when they discover the sky under these conditions), or outside using mobile glasses and telescopes. The quality of the sky in Gretz makes it difficult to visualize in good conditions the objects of the deep sky, objects such as galaxies and nebulae… On the other hand, the brighter objects (Moon, planets, stars) are often most spectacular.
