According to 18th-century archives, the abbey was founded by Saint Louis. The 13th-century buildings included a Latin cross church with cross vaults, stained glass windows and rosettes, side chapels, etc. After various vicissitudes, the abbey was transformed, renovated and ransacked. However, it has retained some of its outer walls and a decapitated statue of a biblical king. Today, it is home to the Hotel-Abbaye du Golf.
