LOURPS CHAPEL
Church located on the D403, a small chapel open to the public which contains paintings of the 13th, 15th and 17th centuries
Also known as Saint-Menge church, the 13th-century Lourps chapel is located on the D403, just outside Longueville on the way to Bray-sur-Seine. Today, the chapel stands isolated on a hillside bordered by the Voulzie, but before the French Revolution it was attached to the adjacent château and served a hamlet that has since disappeared. Open to the public by appointment, it contains exceptional paintings from the 13th, 15th and 17th centuries, a tympanum of a triumphant lamb, and is also surrounded by a cemetery.
