THE OLD-CHAPTER
Meaux's monuments include the Vieux-Chapitre, a building with four conical-roofed turrets
Behind the cathedral nestles a beautiful building known as the Château du Chapitre, recognizable by its four conical-roofed corner turrets. This 13th-century building, which would have served as a convent and tithe barn, now houses a sacristy on the first floor, where certain services are held. Listed as a Monument Historique in the 19th century, the Vieux-Chapitre can only be admired from the outside. You can see its monumental staircase, added in the 15th century and restored in the 1930s.
