Palace with French garden in Meaux, a historic site housing the Bossuet Museum and Fine Arts collections

The Bossuet Museum, located in the former episcopal palace, bears the name of the famous theologian Bossuet, bishop of Meaux from 1681 to 1704. This vast monument, combining medieval and Renaissance architecture, houses collections of paintings and sculptures, as well as objects testifying to the history of the Meaux region from Antiquity to the 20th century. Gallo-Roman and medieval collections reveal the importance of Meaux and its region over 2,000 years ago.

Vraiment.ravie de ma visite. J habite la ferté et j ai découvert pleins de choses sur l histoire de meaux, mais aussi grâce au Monsieur à l'étage qui nous a raconteré la venue de Louis XVI à Meaux. Nous ferons les magnifiques jardins au printemps car il pleuvait trop ce jour...

Très bel ensemble à côté de la cathédrale. Jardin superbe plein de quiétude. Salles voûtées impressionnantes, collection de tableaux fort bien mise en évidence.. vraiment, la visite vaut le détour.
