Gothic building with a porch topped by a bell tower
Victor Hugo described it as "one of those magnificent country churches". Built in 1170 to house a relic of Saint John the Baptist, this Gothic building has a porch topped by a 16th century bell tower. The Renaissance choir, apparently begun on the initiative of Gaston de Foix, Duke of Nemours, has three radiating chapels. Above the high altar, a stained glass window represents Gauthier I handing the relic of the saint to the archbishop of Sens.
