Castle-museum with four typical towers and rooms to visit, offering exhibitions, musical and theatrical animations
The château is said to have been founded in the mid-12th century by Gauthier I de Villebéon, grand chamberlain to kings Louis VII and Philippe Auguste. One of the few remaining castles in the Île-de-France region, it is a magnificent structure. Restored in the 17th century by Philippe d'Orléans, a man of taste and a collector of paintings, it has changed little, if at all, since then. Since 1903, it has housed a fine arts museum with some 20,000 works: sculptures, paintings, graphic arts and photographs emblematic of the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The ratings and reviews below reflect the subjective opinions of members and not the opinion of The Little Witty.
