DENIS MOUSSEAUX
This is a beautiful story. That of a man and an apple, who fell in love with each other from day one. The personality of Denis Mousseaux, "Papy Père Denis" as he called himself, invites poetry. Settled in Mazagran - commune of Saint-Denis-lès-Rebais -, a few kilometers from Coulommiers, on four hectares of open orchards, this former reeducator started to make his own cider in 1985. However, cider had no secrets for him. As a child, he was immersed in it. His uncle, a farmer, produced cider for his family and it is naturally by watching him that he acquired some rudiments. Later, he perfected his skills with several specialists. And then, little by little, he became this producer, today renowned, both for his kindness and for the quality of his cider. A cider that has been rewarded several times in competitions, including the one in 2013 in Beton-Bazoches, where he received the gold medal from the Commanderie des Gouste-Cidre d'Ile-de-France. With a mocking eye, Denis Mousseaux likes to share his passion, his tenderness, one could say, for his sweet, dry and raw ciders, mono-varietal apple juice (6 juices are offered according to the quality of the apple), cider vinegar, ratafia and other cider brandy "Fine de Brie" labeled with his seal "Père Denis". Made from old varieties of apples from the Brie region, Rousseau, Faro, Belle Josephine, Lanscailler, Fleuritard..., raised organically (he is, in this sense, certified organic since 2000 and a member of the Groupement d'agriculture biologique de la région Ile-de-France - GAB IDF), these delicious beverages must imperatively be part of the panoply of souvenirs that you will not fail to bring back from your escapades in the Brie region, for you and for your friends
