A remarkable sandstone and millstone church in Saint-Fargeau, with a sacristy dating from 1854.
Saint-Fargeau church was built in the 13th century and altered in the 14th and 15th centuries. Its ferruginous sandstone facade, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture in Puisaye, features three portals with columns and capitals with three-lobed tympanums, and a radiating rose with stone latticework. The interior comprises three seven-bay vessels lit only by the aisle bays. Like the church, the furnishings (paintings and sculptures from the 15th and 16th centuries) are listed as Monuments Historiques. A real gem!
