ST. LIGHT AND ST. LIGHT CHURCH
The church houses a beautiful altarpiece, probably from the Cistercian abbey of Notre-Dame de Cercanceaux.
Erected at the end of the 12th century as an extension of the original chapel dedicated to Mary, of which a few remains, the church of Saint-Clair (2nd-century bishop) is considered a model of early Gothic architecture, particularly with its high nave. Its walls house an altarpiece listed as a Monument Historique, comprising 11 polychrome, sculpted panels depicting scenes from the Passion of Christ. The altarpiece probably originated in the Abbey of Cercanceaux.
