CASEMATE ESCH
Typical casemate Esch in Hatten, housing a museum with military equipment and reconstructions of life scenes in costume
This typical Maginot Line infantry casemate was built in 1931 and restored by the Friends of the Maginot Line. It has now been restored to its original state, complete with weapons and equipment. Open to visitors since 1986, it houses a museum of materials, equipment, documents, everyday objects, weapons, uniforms and souvenirs. Set on a concrete slab, the American Sherman M4 tank is a privileged witness to this past. You'll also be able to see military equipment and reconstructions of life in costume.
