OLD OIL MILL OF BOIROUX
Built at the end of the last century at the entrance to Voulx, the oil mill was dismantled in 1942 and reassembled in Boiroux where it runs on electricity due to the lack of a river! They make rapeseed and walnut oil. In particular, we can see the two huge granite wheels, used for grinding, each weighing 1,700 kilos. For its restoration, the oil mill was awarded the departmental heritage prize in 1986, in the category of local traditions. To find out the opening days of this place, call the Association des Amis de l'huilerie de Boiroux. Several times a year, as part of the Heritage Days, as well as on August 15, we see this oil mill operating.
