LAPEYRE
The Lapeyre Group's core business is the sale and manufacture of home improvement products for both renovation and new construction. Its products are certified Origin France Guaranteed.
History. Yesterday, a small family business trading building materials. Today, a major distributor and manufacturer of home furnishings products from France and abroad. The Lapeyre Group was formed in stages and has a rich history that began in 1931. It was in that year that Martial Lapeyre, the founder of Lapeyre, took over the company created by his father "Lapeyre and his sons". In 1932, Lapeyre and the woodworking subcontractor Pastural concluded a partnership agreement. Gradually, the company acquired factories, acquired an integrated industrial tool and specialized in carpentry. In 1939, Lapeyre launched one of the first catalogues of standardised joinery, presented with their prices. And it was in 1945 that the first depot-sale on rue de l'Abbé-Groult in Paris opened its doors. The economic model was then innovative, with the development, from the post-war period, of direct sales, without intermediaries, and tailor-made solutions. The company attracted building professionals by specializing in the industrial carpentry sector, while taking advantage of the craze for DIY in the 1960s and 1970s with an offer for the general public.
In 1975, Lapeyre was taken over by the Poliet group and began to diversify and conquer new markets. This will be the beginning of TV commercials, focused on carpentry (doors, wooden windows) with campaigns signed "Un toit, quatre murs et Lapeyre". The famous signature "Lapeyre, there are no two" will appear on the screens at the end of the 1980s and will last 10 years, before being abandoned in 1997 for "Team up with Lapeyre", then in 2002 "You and us, we make Lapeyre", in 2006 "Lapeyre the house, Lapeyre my solution", in 2008 "Our most beautiful project is yours".
Subsequently, the company diversified by buying GME, a bathroom distributor, in 1982 and creating K PAR K, a direct sales brand for individuals, in 1989. In 1996, Saint-Gobain acquired Lapeyre, which, together with Point.P, formed the beginning of the new "Building Distribution" branch.
