Discover the Drancy camp, from collective housing to the internment of French Jews.
This site presents the history of the Drancy camp: a collective housing facility built in the 1930s but never completed, the Cité de la Muette became an internment camp in 1941, and in 1942 the camp where French Jews were rounded up for deportation to the extermination camps. Between March 1942 and August 1944, approximately 63,000 Jews were deported from the Drancy camp. A monumental sculpture, the work of former deportee Shelomo Selinger, welcomes the visitor.
