THE OURCQ CHANNEL
A place to discover the national dance center, with its vast concrete vessel, ideal for a walk,...
From Pantin to the limits of the Seine-et-Marne department, you can follow the Ourcq Canal for dozens of kilometers. In Pantin, a whole architectural heritage, mainly industrial, awaits you! Starting from the Grands Moulins, a massive building complex that has been renovated and now houses the headquarters of a major French bank, turn your back on the capital and set off on your walk, rollerblade ride, bike ride or even boat ride, some of which are available for hire in summer. Pass under the footbridge used by the Maréchaux tramway, and you'll discover the Centre National de la Danse, a building typical of the Brutalist architecture of the 1960s and 1970s, illuminated by colorful neon lights and which until 1997 housed Pantin's cité administrative. Further on, a theater on a former industrial wasteland. Walk on and you'll discover a vast concrete vessel, abandoned for years and now home to service companies. Continue along the banks of the canal, dotted with new buildings and restaurants - which we've obviously tested - and cranes, and you'll arrive in Bobigny, in the Parc Départemental de la Bergère: here too, new districts are springing up. And the tour, to the rhythm of the barges you pass, overtake or watch go by, can go on for miles. Joggers and cyclists know these banks like the back of their hand.
