SEINE-SAINT-DENIS (93) – CIRCUIT CAROLE
Circuit of 2 055 m length and 9 m width. Located near Paris, next to the Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, the Carole circuit, which covers 18 hectares, offers 3 straights and 9 corners. Inaugurated on December1st 1979, the track was named after Carole Le Fol, killed at 18 by a motorcycle while attending one of the last wild "runs" in the Rungis market. The only motorcycle circuit in Ile-de-France was created precisely to put an end to these illegal races (25 killed in 1977 and 1978) and to allow motorcyclists to ride fast and safely, without risking the lives of spectators. Carole is therefore open every day, and free on 26 weekends during the year (Friday afternoon, Saturday, Sunday). And 13 Sunday mornings a year, karting on the track!
