INNOTHERA
Innothera is a manufacturer of medicines and medical textiles whose mission is to treat everyday diseases. This family business adheres to the Vosges terre textile specifications for its footwear products for medical use. It was awarded the Origine France Garantie label for its elastic venous compression products - stockings and socks in June 2015.
History. Innothera was born in 1913 under the name Laboratoires Chantereau. Its creator, René Chantereau, a pharmacist, had the idea of designing and manufacturing effective specialties to treat the pathologies that poison the daily life, without making a vital prognosis. In 1935, the family business changed its name to "Therapeutic Innovation" and moved to Arcueil, in Val-de-Marne, where the headquarters still resides. Innothera developed enormously in the 1970s: it opened a drug manufacturing plant in Chouzy-sur-Cisse, in the Loir-et-Cher region, opened up for export and became interested in medical textiles, more particularly elastic venous compression stockings and socks by acquiring a manufacturing company in Switzerland. In 1999, a new manufacturing plant was set up in the Vosges, a textile land par excellence.
The products. Innothera is divided into three divisions: Innothera Laboratories for medical textiles, Innotech International Laboratory for medicines, and Cleanis for hygiene and protection products. All these products are manufactured in France: medicines in the Loir-et-Cher (41) and medical textiles in the Vosges (88).
Employment. In 2017, the company's turnover amounted to 181 million euros. Innothera employs 723 people in France.
