Charenton-le-Pont is home to Christian Pingeon, an expert master cabinetmaker. Since 1841, Maison Pingeon has been perpetuating the tradition of cabinetmaking and fine joinery. Christian Pingeon, in the fourth generation, is a former Companion d'Art of the Tour de France and an honorary expert before the Courts. His expertise lies in the restoration and custom recreation of 15th and 18th century woodwork, as well as in the design of Versailles parquet flooring. Versailles parquets are made using traditional 17th and 18th century techniques, without glue, to guarantee their longevity. Maison Pingeon also offers restoration, custom reproduction and relocation services for wall panelling, as well as the creation of back doors and custom bookcases. Antique wooden fireplaces and antique carved wooden doors are also specialties of Christian Pingeon.
