UNIVERSITÉ DES AIDANTS
The University of Aidants was created by the Conseil général du Val-de-Marne following a reflection on the ageing of the population: a large number of elderly people must be helped because they gradually lose their autonomy. Their spouses, children, sometimes their brothers, sisters or friends will help them. This aid is not without difficulty: lack of proximity, time, know-how… The University of Caregivers, the first in France, explores avenues that can faciliciter the lives of caregivers of the sick thanks, inter alia, to digital tablets funded by the General Council of 94 to create a community of caregivers, to get them out of their isolation, to communicate with dependent relatives etc. Managed by the Services Branch Elderly people and persons with disabilities and the team of the University of Carers, this project proposes a programme of eleven innovative actions aimed at experimenting with the use of new technologies per hundred caregivers of persons in loss of autonomy in Val-de-Marne, in partnership with the Department's six local geriatrics information and coordination centres. A Facebook page has almost 2 000 "caregivers" who can follow training in areas of their choice.
