NOTRE-DAME DE CRÉTEIL CATHEDRAL
Cathedral Notre-Dame de Créteil, with a shape of a fish in top view, surmounted by a bell tower of 40 m
Located between the Montaigut district and the University of Paris-XII-Val-de-Marne, this cathedral is the first to be inaugurated in France in the 21st century. In place of a modest church, it can now accommodate 1,000 worshippers. The building is presented as two huge wooden hulls, all topped by a 40 m bell tower, giving the whole its architectural power. Note that its shape, seen from above, is that of a fish, a sign of recognition of the first Christians.
