FANAC ISLAND
A charming, verdant island with a dozen or so inhabitants and mansions identifiable by their turrets and extended roofs.
This island, spanned by the Joinville bridge, is located on the Marne and has a few dozen inhabitants. A paradise for rowing and canoeing enthusiasts, it is a site as charming as it is green, with several residences, including the picturesque Fanac house (19th century), which can be spotted by its turrets and its roof extended by a weathervane, which gave its name to the island. The inhabitants of Joinville have art, theater and dance schools on the island and have turned it into a small neighborhood in its own right.
