VAL-DE-MARNE ROSE GARDEN
A remarkable rose garden at l'Hayÿ-sur-Roses, with both botanical and historical appeal, the first western rose garden.
Initiated in 1894 by Jules Gravereaux, who had made his fortune alongside the Boucicaut family when the Bon Marché was created, this rose garden is the oldest rose garden in the world and today has more than 11,000 rosebushes of nearly 2,900 species and varieties. It is one of the most important collections of old roses in the world! A garden of pleasure, beauty and scents, a French-style garden that today covers 1.5 hectares, the Roseraie du Val-de-Marne has become a world-famous public garden.
