AÉROPORT D'ORLY

With its 32 million passengers a year - a record - it is the second largest airport in France and the eleventh largest in Europe. Dedicated to point-to-point flights (no connecting flights), it specialises in metropolitan destinations, to Europe, North Africa and Overseas France. Initially the first Parisian airport, outdated in the early 1990s by Roissy, it has undergone a profound restructuring in recent years. Thus, since 19 March 2019, the two terminals Orly South and Orly West have been connected by a new junction building to form a single unit. No more old names, we are now talking about Orly 1, 2, and 3 (formerly Orly West) and Orly 4 (formerly Orly South) terminals. And the work that has already been completed is bearing fruit: larger, appreciated spaces and improved access, reception and security infrastructures to simplify the traveller's journey. While many regret the average accessibility of the airport with public transport, there are prospects: the extension of line 14 of the metro, which should connect Orly to Paris in only 15 minutes in 2024, as well as line 18, which will run from the complex to Massy, Saclay and Versailles in 2030, should greatly improve the situation.
