The château as we see it today was once part of a much larger area where kings enjoyed hunting. Imposing in its proportions, it is just as impressive in its centuries-old history, as evidenced by the architectural styles that characterize it: enclosure, fortifications, keep, 14th-century Gothic Sainte-Chapelle... A visit to the château is highly recommended, providing an insight into several centuries of history, while the more observant can spot a few peregrine falcons nesting on the heights.
