THE TROPICAL GARDEN OF PARIS
Vast complex dedicated to the study of plants imported from the colonies, built in 1907 in Vincennes
RER Nogent-sur-M.
At the eastern end of the Bois de Vincennes, France had built in 1907, following initial trials in 1899, a vast 4 hectare complex dedicated to the study of plants imported from the colonies. Unfortunately, the site was largely degraded, then closed and curiously not maintained until its purchase by the City of Paris. The former pavilions have been colonized by plants, which makes it a photo subject and a surprising place to walk.
