AMBLEVILLE CASTLE AND GARDENS
Castle with gardens, was in the defensive system along the valley of the Epte, Nicolas de Villeroy gave it an air of Tuscany
This castle was once part of the defense system that stretched along the Epte valley and formed the border between English Normandy and the kingdom of France. During the Renaissance, Louis de Mornay had the fortress "Italianized". It was then Nicolas de Villeroy, Louis XIV's ambassador to the Medici court, who completed the Tuscan look. The result is a magnificent ensemble, all set in the green setting of the wooded hillsides of the Aubette valley.
