THE MONUMENTAL STATUE OF NOTRE-DAME DE FRANCE
What a story! The 1937 exhibition included, among others, a pontifical pavilion crowned with an immense statue 7 metres high representing Notre-Dame-de-France, crowned with a crown and presenting her child, his arms reaching towards the sky. When the pavilions were demolished (yes, it was so at the time), the statue took the road to Amiens to - the stories diverge - find itself on a building, then in a cellar of the town hall. It was only more than 50 years later that passionate believers restored the statue and installed it on a huge pedestal about twenty meters high, allowing it to be seen from afar. Some buildings dedicated to worship have flourished at its feet, making the place an original stopover.
