THE OLD PRIORY
A priory bearing witness to Cergy's rich religious past, surrounded by a protective wall and featuring two defensive towers.
Just next to the church of Saint-Christophe is a testimony to the rich religious past of Cergy. It is indeed in the 12th century, when the parish of Cergy had just been offered to the abbey of Saint-Denis, that was built this priory. At the time, it included a tithe barn and was surrounded by a protective wall. The latter includes two defensive towers and a fortified porch. Today, one of the doors remains, admirably preserved, and is well worth a visit.
