Monumental sculpture in bronze, installed near the prefecture, a landmark for many Cergisois
Cast and installed in 1978 near the prefecture, this monumental bronze sculpture symbolizes, in the person of Don Quixote, the dream of a new city. It is to the sculptor Charles Gir (1883 -1941) that we owe the creation of a sketch of what he called "the realized utopia", which later became reality. His spear, pointing to the sky, and the whole work can be seen from afar, and mark the arrival on the square for those arriving from the park adjacent to the prefecture.
