BEC-HELLOUIN PRIORY
The main building has kept its old structures and is adjacent to a circular dovecote covered with tiles
Adjacent to the southern flank of the church are the buildings of a former priory of Bec-Hellouin. The main building has kept its old structures and is adjacent to a circular dovecote covered with tiles. Founded in the 11thcentury in Normandy, the Benedictine abbey of Bec-Hellouin owned about twenty priories in France, such as in Conflans or Pontoise. Its lands also extended to England. Today, the abbey - classified as a historical monument in 2008 - can be visited but can also be observed from the place du Monument aux Morts, or behind the chevet of the church.
