CROW FORT
One of the largest military forts in the region, this remarkable fort was part of the defense system of Paris
Built between 1874 and 1877, after the war with Prussia, the fort was part of the defense system for Paris, equipped with 64 cannons and able to house 2,000 men. In 1944, the building was converted into a prison, and later housed officials from the Ministry of Justice. In 1965, it was taken over by the army. The fort now belongs to the Agence des espaces verts de la région Île-de-France. The site can be visited, but has also been used as a set for films such as Jean-Pierre Melville's "L'armée des ombres" and Jean Becker's "Le Collier Rouge".
