COVERED WALKWAY OF THE WOOD-CUTTER
Covered alley, an antechamber and burial chamber at Guiry-en-Vexin, a megalithic monument overlooking the valley of the Aubette.
Discovered in 1910, this megalithic monument dominates the Aubette valley. It is an antechamber and a burial chamber (8.50 m long, 2 m wide) which were dug into the subsoil and covered with limestone slabs. The walls are made of dry stone. The 158 kg stone that sealed this construction is preserved in the departmental archaeological museum of Val-d'Oise. This curious monument can be reached by a nice walk through the woods.
