TROGLODYTIC CHURCH OF THE ANNUNCIATION
The nave of this church rises to a height of 8 meters and has 4 high windows, pierced in the rock
A unique building in Ile-de-France! A small bell tower emerges from the rock between the bushes, that of the church dedicated to the Annunciation. Commissioned in 1670 by Boileau's nephew, it was dug into the limestone of the cliff. Its nave rises to a height of 8 meters and has 4 high windows, pierced in the rock. This church and its small cemetery satisfied the inhabitants of the troglodytic village of Haute-Isle who had previously had to climb to the church of Chérence.
