This forest once supplied the wood needed for barrel hoops
This is the last state-owned forest classified as such in Île-de-France: the Hautil forest is located on the massif of the same name, which rises to 191 meters. A natural border between the valleys of the Seine and the Oise, it once provided the wood needed for barrel hoops. Its subsoil, of gypsum, has been exploited for a long time. The paths are diverse and have many kilometers of possibilities. The view, on the agglomeration of Cergy-Pontoise, but also on Paris, at more than 30 kilometers, is magnificent.
