PAINTERS' JOURNEY
A journey from the station to the sites where the painters set down their easels, for an introduction to Impressionist painting
Alongside the famous artists (Corot, Sisley or Van Gogh) who found inspiration in the Val-d'Oise, other lesser-known painters left their studios to practice here, such as Albert Marquet, who established his residence at La Frette-sur-Seine. Some artists, such as Lucien Pissaro, Camille's son, got into the habit of visiting him. The route begins at the station and leads from panorama to panorama, to where the painters set up their easels. At each stop, a reproduction of a painting, on the very spot where it was painted: magical.
