SAINT-SAMSON CHURCH
This church has some traces of the Renaissance in the design of the bays on the façade and the bell tower
Famous for its château, La Roche-Guyon is also a sacred site. The monument's troglodytic cavities contain the remains of a 3rd-century place of worship linked to the legend of saints Nicaise and Pience. Most of the building visible today is Gothic in style. A few Renaissance elements can be seen in the design of the bays on the façade and in the bell tower. The only asymmetrical elements are the 18th-century chapels to the north of the building. The church interior is covered with 19th-century neo-Gothic frescoes.
