ETANGS DE LA PETITE PLAINE
The Isle of Adam is stamped as a park city due to the size of its state forest and the evocative properties of the th century. The Chinese pavilion in the park of Cassan castle is to be seen for the originality of its style but also for its lower part which forms a dam retaining water from a pond. In the heart of the town of L'Isle-Adam, the ponds of La Petite Plaine have the origin of old quarries operated up to 1958 for some and until 1970 for others. Built for the promenade, the banks offer a relaxing setting and a complete change of scenery. Ponds display good quality water thanks to the sources that feed them. Among the thirty species that are found there are gardons, studs, carp, esturgeons, perch, pike, blackberries, trout and crayfish. Part of the ponds are owned by the municipality which entrusted management to the fishing association of the Etangs de la Petite Plaine, whose head office is at the Adamois Leisure and Associative Life Centre (CALVA), but has a local ponds on the peninsula.
