CASTLE OF THE MOTTE
Go there and contact
This th century building has no castle but name. However, a true castle was built on the same location in the th century, passing to the hands of the counts of Clermont and then Beaumont. Rebuilt by an Italian family in the Renaissance, it was completely destroyed in the late th century. The motte that rises on its left is the oldest element of the site. It is an elevation of artificial land designed to protect itself from the invader. In the English-style park, conceived by the last owner, the Countess of Ganay, the remains of a fort began in the th century. Part of the residence houses the Tourism and Recreation Committee of the Val-d'Oise.
