ARCHAEOLOGICAL COLLECTION OF THE TOWN HALL OF PARMAIN
The collection is sheltered in the town hall, a former bourgeois mansion built in the 33rd century according to the Louis XV style, surrounded by a ha park. It presents very old objects: a wide choice of Paleolithic and Neolithic tools, funerary vases, Gallo-Roman furniture… The courtyard holds stelas and sarcophagi. Mérovingiens remains testify to the intensity of local activity at that time. One of the main pieces of the collection is a torso of Hercules discovered in 1968. Very stylized, it is in contra posto, bearded, wearing a cross on the thorax. Perhaps he represents in reality ', son of the God Pan and of a nymph, and nurturing father of Dionysus.
