SAINT-MACLOU CATHEDRAL
The Saint-Maclou cathedral has a gothic façade and bell tower as well as a choir with a Romanesque structure
It is one of the symbols of the city. Originally a church, it was built in the 12th century and then remodeled between 1450 and 1470. The façade and bell tower are in the flamboyant Gothic style, while the choir preserves a Romanesque structure. The capitals of the nave, richly decorated, date from the Renaissance. The portals overlooking the Grand-Martroy and Petit-Martroy squares are also from this period. The building also has magnificent stained glass windows from the 16th and 20th centuries. This place of worship was elevated to the rank of cathedral in 1966.
