NOTRE-DAME DE PONTOISE CHURCH
Church of the XIIth century in Pontoise, destroyed and rebuilt, dedicated to the Virgin who was asked for intercession during the plague in 1638
Located outside the city walls, in the lower part, the church built in the 12th century had to suffer many outrages during the multiple sieges that Pontoise has known. It was destroyed in 1589, during an attack by King Henry III. Quickly rebuilt by Nicolas Le Mercier on the ruins of the old building, in more modest proportions, it is dedicated to the Virgin, to whom it was asked for protection during a plague epidemic in 1638.
