A covered alley forming a monument in the form of a corridor covered with several stone slabs at Saint-Martin-du-Tertre
The Pierre Turquaise - or Pierre Turquoise - is a dolmen or, more precisely, a covered alley, a type of burial site typical of the Neolithic period, generally forming a corridor-shaped monument covered with several stone slabs. Located in the forest of Carnelles, the Pierre Turquaise is the largest prehistoric monument in the Ile-de-France region. Protected as a historical monument, it is made of sandstone and is more than 12 m long. It was vandalized in 1985. A replica can be seen in the National Archaeology Museum of Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
