THE MILL OF SANNOIS
A type of pivot mill, also called chandelier, offering an exceptional panorama on the valleys of Montmorency and the Seine.
This mill dates from the 18th century. It is a type of pivot mill, also called "chandelier": a huge central beam carved in an old oak serves as a pivot. The position of the mill offers an exceptional panorama on the valleys of Montmorency and the Seine. It is one of the rare vestiges of the numerous mills of the Parisian suburbs that disappeared in the 19th century and were transformed into guinguettes. The recent restoration of the mill has seen it transported to Belgium! It has now returned to its original function: grinding the flour of Sannois.
