Inaugurated in 1879, this beautiful hippodrome located one kilometre from Enghien-les-Bains, on the edge of Montmorency Forest, can hold 20 000 spectators, 3 000 of them in the gallery. It hosts gallop races with a grass track, and a harness with a 1 300 m stretch of sand with rope on the left. Strong lighting allows for night races. The main races are the Grand Steeple Chase d'Enghien, run in October, and, for the armor, the Atlantic Prize, which was held in April. A restaurant, the well appointed "Panoramic" and a brasserie "La Rotonde", allow you to spend an excellent time between the excitement of the bet and pleasure of the table. A playground is open every day (under the responsibility of the parents). Grass entrance is free every Sunday in July and August. Free visits are organized every Sunday to discover the backstage of the race track (information and departures at Point Home Information at 15 a. m., 16 p. m. and 17 p. m.).
