NOTRE DAME CHURCH
This church perched on the hillside, was painted several times by Claude Monet
The construction of this church began in the 10th century, continued in the 12th century with the addition of the choir, and then in the 16th century with the addition of the nave and the transept. On the top of the main portal, one can admire sculpted scenes from the Old Testament and, inside, statues including a superb 14th century Virgin, and beautiful paintings depicting religious scenes. Perched on the hillside, accessible from the village by a staircase, this church has been painted several times by Claude Monet, at different times of the day and in different seasons.
