SAINT-GERMAIN-DE-PARIS CHURCH
Church in Andrésy with superb Renaissance stained-glass windows, freshly restored organ and chapel of the Virgin Mary.
Begun in the 13th century and dedicated to Saint Germain, bishop of Paris from 555 to 576, Andrésy's church waited 4 centuries for completion. During the reign of François I, an Andrésy family offered to donate the chapel of the Virgin, which was added to the lonely nave. The Adoration of the Shepherds by Lubin Baugin (1612-1663) can be admired here. The church's superb Renaissance stained-glass windows and recently restored organ are also well worth a visit.
