BAZEMONT CASTLE

It was at the end of the sixteenth century that Charle d 'O commanded the construction of Bazemont Castle before being occupied, beginning in 1765, by the ultimate lord of the region, Louis-Pierre Parat de Chalandray, who made him undergo major changes: the last turret was destroyed and a wing was built at its location. In keeping with the tastes of his time, Parat de Chalandray also designed elements still visible today like the housing of the Gardener and Gardener, stables, discounts, a watering-out, a tanning gallery that links the house to the church gallery, and an English-style park with a few remains. In 1893 the city council acquired the property to install the town hall and schools. The place deserves a little look.
