SAINT-GERVAIS-SAINT-PROTAIS CHURCH
or parish church retaining its massive, fortified appearance: bell tower and back wall. Modern stained glass windows.
The building was built by the monks of Saint-Martin-des-Champs, who established the Saint-Symphorien priory here. Rebuilt in the 13th century, it retains a massive, fortified appearance, particularly in the bell tower and back wall. In one of the pillars is an urn containing the heart of the 12th Duke of Uzès. In 1969, fourteen remarkable modern stained-glass windows, designed by L.-R. Petit and created by the Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire monastic workshop, were added to the building.
