TRUNK HOUSE
Second Empire-style building commissioned by journalist Edmond Lepelletier de Bouhelier in Bougival.
The property takes its name from a disastrous episode, as it was built on the very spot where the Normans landed at Bougival in 856, before massacring the local inhabitants. The name Malleport is therefore a deformation of "bad port" or "cursed port". Today, this splendid Second Empire-style building can be admired on Rue Yvan Tourgueniev, with its elaborate facade adorned with moldings and cornices. The building was commissioned by journalist and politician Edmond Lepelletier de Bouhelier.
