MISTINGUETT HOUSE
This Directoire-style house, with pediment and arched bays on the first floor, belonged to Mistinguett's brother.
This 19th-century property belonged to the brother of Jeanne Bourgeois, better known as Mistinguett. The famous music-hall actress and revue leader enjoyed great success at the Moulin-Rouge, the Casino de Paris and the Folies Bergère. In the Directoire style, with a pediment on all four sides, it features arched windows on the first floor and busts on the façade. The initials JB on the front door refer to Mistinguett, who died here on January 5, 1956; but also to Jeanne Bécu, Countess du Barry and mistress of Louis XV, to whom he gave the house.
