MISTINGUETT HOUSE
This Directoire-style house, at the foot of the hillside on the banks of the Seine, belonged to Mistinguett's brother, who died there.
This 19th-century property belonged to the brother of Jeanne Bourgeois, better known as Mistinguett. The famous music-hall actress and revue leader enjoyed great success at the Moulin-Rouge, the Casino de Paris and the Folies Bergère. This vast Directoire-style house facing the Seine, with a pediment on all four sides, is adorned with arched bays on the first floor and busts on the facade, which once stood in an English garden. The initials JB on the front door refer to Mistinguett, who died here on January 5, 1956.
